Scar Free Skin: Weigh Your Treatment Options

8:58:00 AM
Anyone with noticeable scars is surely trying to figure out a way of getting rid of them. You might think this is impossible, however, there are ways of getting your skin smooth and flawless again.

Surgery is one of the most common treatment options for extensive and noticeable scars. Laser therapy and other lighter therapies are also a way of minimizing the appearance of scar tissue. But perhaps, the most gentle and most common type of treatment option are scar creams.

These treatments can all get you one step closer to scar free skin. The ultimate decision will depend on the type of scar you have and the extent of the scar tissue. Most of the following treatments require medical supervision, so take your time and weigh your options carefully before preferring one.

Surgery is a good option for removing burn scars and acne scars. Punch excision (for ice-pick scars) and subsicion (for rolling and atrophic scars) are the most frequent surgical interventions for acne scars. Surgery is also used to treat burn scars.

Punch excision means that the scarred skin will be removed using a cutting tool. The open wound is, then, sutured up leaving behind a straight scar. Subcision is the subcutaneous cutting of tissue that disconnects the upper layers of skin from underlying scar tissue.

Laser therapy is readily used to treat acne scarring, surgical scarring, keloids, hypertrophic and atrophic scars. Blue light and red light therapy are much more effective in preventing the appearance of scars, but they have been known to also help treat scarring.

Natural scar creams are another way of treating all kinds of scars. These creams can be applied frequently throughout the day. The best scar treatment product contains ingredients that help "dissolve" existing scar tissue and replace it with new skin cells.

Scar creams that are made with Helix aspersa muller extract and rose hip oil are the ones you should be looking for. These ingredients have been known to diminish the appearance of all types of scar tissue, including stretch marks. Snail serum contains enzymes and peptides that dissolve scars, and rose hip oil is high in Vitamin A, Vitamin C and essential fatty acids.

There are several different types of scar removal techniques out there. The one that you choose will depend on the type of scar you have and the results that you are looking for. However, if you're unsure, consult with a dermatologist.By:

Home Remedies For Burns Made From Natural Ingredients

9:46:00 AM
When you suffer a burn, it is important to treat it right away. Whether it is sunburn, scald, blister, or just chapped skin, the best way to begin healing is to bring moisture back to the damaged area and allow the body to begin mending itself without the threat of contamination. Home remedies for burns include several useful balms and ointments made from natural products that are very effective. A good antiseptic salve can help a burn heal more quickly and protect you from infection.
When you look for good home remedies for burns, you should find salves or lotions that include herbal ingredients that bring natural relief without harsh or smelly chemicals. Turpentine and liquefied phenol are wonderful agents for keeping a burn site moist and protecting it from dust or other harmful irritations. These ingredients work best when they are mixed in a combination with a blend of paraffin, petrolatum, and cottonseed oil. The paraffin and petrolatum give your balm a thicker consistency that helps it to stay where you need it, and also creates a layer of protection that is difficult to get through for contaminating agents.
You may recognize turpentine as a paint thinner or industrial product, but it also has many healing properties. People around the world have used turpentine medicinally since ancient times. Its inclusion in home remedies for burns is not surprising given its natural antiseptic and anesthetic properties. Ancient mariners carried turpentine as a healing agent when they sailed, and it has been recognized as an effective medicine for abrasions, throat and nasal problems, and small wounds. Traditionally turpentine has been used both internally and externally.

Liquefied phenol is a very powerful agent that penetrates and soaks into the skin incredibly quickly. When it is used as part of a salve for home remedies for burns, it actually enhances the ability of the healing turpentine to sink deeply into the burned area and bring relief more quickly. The use of liquefied phenol allows your home remedy to bring you longer lasting relief, as well, because the medicine will stay in the burned area instead of evaporating or getting rubbed off.
Any salve needs an agent that will keep it malleable and yet give it a good consistency so that it won't just spill off of the burned area. Paraffin has been used as part of the candle making process for years because of its firm yet pliable nature. It is a natural ingredient that allows the salve to maintain the necessary texture without impeding the healing agents within the medication. Home remedies for burns are easy to find and can be used to ease the pain and increase the rate of healing for any type of skin irritation.

Burns should be treated as soon as possible. The most effective treatments include natural ingredients that help your body's natural healing processes without harsh chemicals. Keep the area clean and apply a soothing balm at least twice a day for best results.By

Sheer Cover Makeup To Protect Your Looks

11:54:00 AM
Sheer cover makeup has got to be one of the best developments in make up technology in the past few years. It's become extremely popular. Not only is it easy to use, it's inexpensive and looks natural. Many make up companies are smartly shifting their product lines to incorporate more sheer makeup products.

Many women dislike wearing makeup every day. This isn't a surprise considering how much time is required to properly apply all of the makeup society requires, and the heavy and unnatural feeling of all that stuff on a woman's face. That's without getting into the constant minor adjustments women have to make each day to ensure that their makeup remains presentable at all times. Powder makeup, however, greatly reduces all of this hassle.

It is not easy to find high quality sheer cover makeup at a bargain price. Part of this is that it is sold as a premium product commanding premium prices at department store counters. However, if you look in the right places- such as drug stores, discount outlets, and supermarkets- you will be able to find mineral makeup at low prices, sometimes as little as ten dollars per bottle.
These new natural sheer naked mineral makeup products are not nearly so bothersome to the skin of some women as other makeups can be. They are generally are not made from products with alcohol, or other additives or preservatives that are found in most other makeups. With this comes less sensitivity to the skin of those women that may have allergies or sensitive skin, things that are commonly experienced with powder foundation makeup.

Many of the sheer makeup products include sun protection. Sheer makeup products use a mineral pressed powder foundation usually found at 15 to 30 SPF which is a good alternative to oily, cream-based sunscreens. If you use a powder makeup, you could switchover to sheer makeup products which unlike other sunscreen products do not the pores, leading to outbreaks and other skin problems.

The best thing about sheer makeup is that applying it does not feel like putting on a mask. It's so weightless and light that you can completely forget you're wearing sheer cover makeup. Additionally, it doesn't deposit in pores or wrinkles in the skin like liquid makeup, so it's virtually transparent. Go out and test sheer makeup today! The difference is breathtaking.

Vitamin C Skin Lightening - New Skin Whitening Procedure!

6:40:00 AM
Vitamin C skin lightening has become a popular subject in skin care circles recently, and with good reason. Vitamin C, an essential water soluble vitamin, otherwise known as Ascorbic acid was made popular in the 1970s by the work of two time Nobel prize winning scientist Linus Pauling. Our bodies are not able to make vitamin C and so it must be obtained from our diet. Vitamin C is an "antioxidant" and can protect the cells of the body from damage caused by free-radicals, un-paired electrons, created by normal biological processes and environmental pollutants, that can wreak havoc at the cellular level. Vitamin C is also critical for Collagen synthesis, important for skin, ligament & bones formation. Natural and synthetic forms appear to be the same chemically and there is not much evidence that either works better than the other, although the majority of research has been done using synthetic versions. Dr. Pauling recommended about 2000 MG per day in the 1970s but today the Pauling Institute recommends about 400 milligrams a day in two divided doses. This is based on more current research not available to Dr. Pauling. Vitamin C is available in a number of different forms including:

  • Ascorbic acid,
  • Sodium ascorbate
  • Calcium ascorbate
  • Ascorbyl palmitate
Sodium ascorbate & Calcium Ascorbate are known as "mineral ascorbates" and are less acidic than other forms A number of companies have added Ascorbyl palmitate Vitamin C to their skin creams because it is a fat soluble form, while Some skin creams include a specific vitamin C product known as "Ester C", this is simply calcium ascorbate and some other trace elements. Just to confuse things a little more, Ascorbyl palmitate is also known as "Vitamin C Ester". All these forms of vitamin C perform the same function as an antioxidant. Vitamin C has also been shown to be a inhibitor of "Melanin", the substance that the skin produces in response to sunlight, that darkens the skin another reason it is often added to skin creams. The skin lightening effect of Vitamin C alone is mild and changes occur through consistent use and over time. It is typically combined with other substances such as Alfa Hydroxy Acids to increase its action. Vitamin C solutions can be successfully prepared and applied at home and good results can be achieved at very low cost. However it is important to know its proper use to avoid skin damage due to too high a concentration which may burn the skin. Vitamin C skin lightening can be incredibly effective.By

Skin Care Tips For Busy Women - 7 Simple Facial Exercises For Glowing Skin

10:15:00 AM
Have you looked in the mirror recently? What do you see? Do you see bright, naturally glowing skin or tired looking skin?
Your face works very hard. It is your reflection to the world.
You may use natural skin care products and have a daily cleansing system, however, when was the last time you consciously exercised your face?
Strip away your make-up and cleansing routine you are left with your bare skin. How does that look?
In this post I offer you seven simple facial exercises to refresh, rejuvenate and energise your facial skin.
Staring At A Computer Screen For Too Long Makes Your Eyes Tired
Like the rest of your body, stress and tension are stored in your face, for example, if you spend a lot of time staring at a computer screen, chances are your eyes will become sore and tired; you may without realising start to clench your jaw and grind your teeth; hunch your shoulders or strain your neck muscles. The build up of tension is stored in your body and affects your mobility and stiffens your body.
Seven Simple Facial Exercises For Glowing Skin
The following are a few simple facial exercises that will help you to relax tense tired facial muscles, release stress and improve circulation. Your face will feel energised, alive and tingly.
These simple facial exercises can be done sitting comfortably on a chair.
1. Sitting comfortably breathe in and as you breathe out gently allow your shoulders to relax. Continue to focus on your breathe and allow your face to be soft, relax your jaw and gently close your eyes. Spend a few moments just consciously focusing on relaxing your facial muscles, feel the tension and stress melt away as you focus on your breath.
2. Pretend to chew gum. Chew for 1 - 3 minutes, making large chewing and smacking motions. The louder and noisier the better.
3. Scrunch your face real tight like a prune - pull your eye brows down, draw your cheeks in toward your nose, purse your lips. Hold for a count of five and release. Repeat 3 - 5 times.
4. Squeeze and pinch your cheeks to improve the circulation in your face.
5. Place your index and middle fingers of both hands in the middle of your forehead. Gently rub your forehead by making small circular movements with your fingers. Slowly, move your fingers to your temples and make small circles over the temples. Gradually work your fingers alongside your nostrils, then over to your jaw muscles. Spend a few moments, opening and closing your jaw as you massage your jaw and cheeks. Relax and repeat this sequence 3 - 5 times.
6. Take a long deep breath in and slowly breathe out. Scrunch your face up, like a dried prune. Open your eyes look upwards; open your mouth, stretch out your tongue and Roarrrrrr like a lion. Repeat until you feel powerful, calm and in control.
7. Close your eyes and take a few rounds of deep yogic breathing. Rub your palms together, very fast until they feel warm. Gently place your cupped hands over your closed eyes. Relax and breathe. Repeat.
Your face deserves to be treated well. Make it part of your daily skin care routine to slip in at least 2 or 3 of the above facial exercises. You will feel energised and best of all get a natural glow to your face.
Thank You

How to Disguise Stretch Marks on Bodybuilders

12:04:00 PM
When skin has been stretched beyond its elastic limits, a stretch mark will appear. This generally affects people that grow too quickly or lose or gain weight faster than their skin can adapt to the changes. These marks usually appear on the breast or chest, abdomen, upper arms, hips, thighs and back of the knees.

Generally, women are more susceptible to stretch marks. But, men can also develop them especially extreme athletes. For example, men that practice bodybuilding are especially likely to develop stretch marks.

They work on "bulking up", which causes their skins to stretch excessively in a short period of time. It is highly common for bodybuilders to develop stretch marks along their thighs and lower abdomen. For this reason, several bodybuilders are concerned about stretch marks and stretch mark treatments.

Ways of Treating Stretch Marks

Stretch mark removal is an unlikely solution for most bodybuilders because they don't have excess skin that can be removed. Surgical options are much more adequate for people who have lost a great deal of weight and have loose skin and stretch marks. Nevertheless, there are other treatment options for bodybuilders.
When stretch marks are new, it is possible to treat them with stretch marks creams and other stretch mark products, like rose hip seed oil. However, as they get older it may not be possible to eliminate them completely. Rose hip seed oil is very effective in dramatically reducing the appearance of stretch marks but not in eliminating them.

As a matter of fact, one of the best options for bodybuilders is to cover up their stretch marks. If you are okay with this solution then you should know that there are three basic ways of covering up these bothersome striations: clothing, makeup, and self tanners. Anyone can benefit from using these solutions.

Covering Up Stretch Marks

Clothing is probably the easiest and most hassle-free way of covering up your stretch marks. You can use jackets and long sleeve shirts to cover the stretch marks on your arms while the stretch marks on your abdomen can be covered up using a top or shirt. However, since bodybuilders compete they need other options that will help cover up stretch marks. In this case body makeup or self tanners can come in handy.

Body makeup is thick and more wear-proof than traditional foundation. When you have stretch marks in areas that are hard to cover or that you simply don't want to cover with clothing, this is an ideal option for you.

Another alternative for covering up stretch marks is spray on tans or self tanning lotions. If you decide to get a real tan, then you will only be making your stretch marks darker. But, self tanners will cover the skin evenly and help you avoid too much sun exposure.By:

Eucalyptus Oil and Skin Care

10:13:00 AM
Eucalyptus oil is a popular insect repellent, skin treatment and aromatherapy oil. Using eucalyptus oil wisely and with caution is important since it is a potent remedy that can produce sever side effects when used excessively or in combination with the wrong drugs. By knowing the potential hazards linked to improper use of eucalyptus oil you will be able to use eucalyptus oil more safe and avoid dangerous side effects. It is always important to understand how a remedy can affect your body before you commence any treatment. Recognizing the early signs of eucalyptus oil poisoning and allergic reactions to eucalyptus oil is very important.

You should avoid using eucalyptus oil internally unless you are under the supervision of a licensed health professional. The reason behind this advice is the instances where people have developed severe toxic reactions to eucalyptus oil when drinking it. If you have ingested eucalyptus oil and begin to suffer from vomiting, nausea and/or stomach pain you should seek immediate medical attention. High doses of eucalyptus oil can cause bleedings, seizures and heart problems. Severe eucalyptus oil poisoning can even lead to coma and death. Animal tests show that ingested eucalyptus oil will affect the blood sugar levels, but more studies must be carried out if we want to know for sure whether or not this is true for humans as well.

Eucalyptus oil is a popular ingredient in many mouthwashes, and such mouthwashes should therefore be kept out of reach for children and pets. If a person swallows large amounts of eucalyptus oil mouthwash, the toxics can cause multi-organ failure and affect the cardiovascular system. Such problems have however only been reported in patients that swallowed really large amounts of eucalyptus oil mouthwash. Swallowing a very small amount of eucalyptus oil mouthwash when you are gurgling is much less dangerous, but should of course be avoided. Do not let children use eucalyptus oil mouthwash unless it has been prescribed by a licensed health professional. Children are more sensitive to toxics and the risk of them swallowing mouthwash is also higher.

Eucalyptus oil is an important part of many aromatherapy treatments. Adding eucalyptus oil to baths are very popular, but some people have reported laboured breathing, wooziness and drowsiness after taking long and hot baths with eucalyptus oil. It is of course hard to know whether this was caused by the long and hot bath, or by the eucalyptus oil, or by the combination of both, but caution is still recommended when using eucalyptus oil for the first time. Start by taking a shorter bath with a small amount of eucalyptus oil to test your sensitivity. Another problem linked to long and strong eucalyptus oil baths are skin irritation.

Applying eucalyptus oil directly to the skin is a common treatment for a wide range of skin problems, but you should keep in mind that the strong eucalyptus oil can cause skin irritation, especially if the skin is already injured by eczema, burns or similar. A painful burning feeling can develop, sometimes combined with skin rashes. Try the eucalyptus oil on a piece of healthy skin to test your sensitivity before you proceed to treat upset skin.By:

Home Remedies for Rash - Treat This Problem And Get Relief From Itching

10:58:00 AM
A rash can be defined as an area of reddened and inflamed skin. It may sometimes indicate a deeper underlying disease. Some types of rashes are itchy and painful. The most common causes of skin rashes include chemicals present in the clothes, elastic products, and rubber and latex materials, dyes, soaps, detergents, cosmetics, heat, food allergies, insect bites, certain medications, and plants like sumac, poison oak, and poison ivy. Skin rashes can also occur due to many medical conditions, such as impetigo, eczema, shingles, psoriasis, lupus erythematosus, childhood viral infections, and rheumatoid arthritis.

Most types of rashes can be dealt with the help of home remedies for rashes. Skin care plays an important role in treating skin rashes. Do not scrub or scratch your skin. It is best to use a mild cleanser instead of soap. Never apply any cosmetics directly on your rashes. Try to expose the affected area to the air as often as possible. Stress can worsen your rashes and therefore try to do some relaxation exercises to get relief from stress. If you have heat rash, wear loose cotton clothes. Drinking plenty of lime juice can help you relieve your prickly heat rashes. You can also apply full-strength lemon juice directly to the rashes to get relief from itching.

Baking soda is an excellent remedy for the rashes caused by heat, poison ivy, oak, and sumac. Mix baking soda with water in a ratio of 3:1 and apply the resultant paste directly to the affected areas. If you have extensive itching, add one cup of baking powder to warm bath water and immerse yourself in it. Aloe vera extract is also a best natural cure for skin rashes. It contains antibacterial, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory properties. Rub aloe vera extract or gel on the rash. Another way to get rid of itching and irritation caused by skin rashes is to put a little amount of olive oil on the rashes.

An oatmeal bath is one of the excellent natural remedies for skin rashes. Add one cup of oatmeal to warm bath water and soak in it for at least fifteen minutes. Make sure that the water is not very hot. Cucumber, with its anti-inflammatory properties can also heal skin rashes. Take some cucumber pieces and puree them to a pulp. Apply this pulp directly to the rashes to alleviate the irritation. You can also place cucumber slices on the rashes. Calendula essential oil and chamomile essential oil are also good home remedies for rashes. Chamomile tea bag can be used to reduce inflamed skin. Make some chamomile tea and apply it to the rashes using a cotton ball.

Mix cod liver oil with vitamin E and put this mixture on the rashes. This is one of the recommended home remedies for rashes. Skin rashes can also be reduced by applying witch hazel extract to the affected area. Consult a doctor if your rash is not healing or is associated with other symptoms, such as difficulty breathing and dizziness.By:

Winter Skin Care Tips for Beautiful Skin

10:44:00 AM
Once the weather has turned crisp and people start bundling up from the cold, most skin care regimes go out of the window. Skin takes a beating during the winter months and becomes tight, dry, dull and lacklustre from neglect and adverse weather conditions. Some people even develop skin conditions such as flaking, cracking and eczema. The secret to beautiful skin during the summer months is to keep up skincare regimes all year round and that includes during the frigid winter months.
One skincare routine that most people stop during winter is the religious application of sunscreen. Despite the lack of sunshine, skin can still be damaged during winter by harmful UV rays and glare from snow, causing wrinkles and aging especially in the fine skin around the eyes. Sunscreen should still be applied on a daily basis - use a broad spectrum sunscreen and apply it to all exposed areas, including the hands and face at least half an hour before going outside.
Skin also needs intensive moisturization during winter. Skin loses its natural oils because of the harsh weather conditions and indoor heating which saps the skin of its natural hydration, making it more fragile and prone to damage. The body and face should be moisturized on a daily basis, especially those areas that are covered up by winter woollies, as this will stop the skin from drying out and will maintain the natural oils.
Sometimes the facial moisturizer that worked well in the summer months will need to be changed in the harsher winter months. An oil based moisturizer should be considered as the oil will create a protective layer and will retain more moisture. However, care should be taken in choosing the type of oil because some clog the pores and cause even more skin problems.
Non-clogging oils such as avocado, mineral, sandalwood or primrose should be used and Shea oil should be avoided. Look for products containing humectants - these are substances such as glycerine, sorbitol and alpha-hydroxy acids which draw moisture into the skin and keep it hydrated. Apply a specialized eye area cream nightly to keep the eye contour area looking plumped up and fresh.
Hot showers and baths can also damage the skin by stripping it of its natural acid mantel, which leads to dry skin. Taking cooler baths and shorter showers will help to maintain the skin's natural defences and lipid barriers and will help to prevent that winter crocodile skin. Oatmeal or baking soda in the bath can help relieve itchiness. Indoor heating dries out the air, so a humidifier might be useful in preventing the skin from drying out.
The skin on the hands and feet is also affected by winter cold because the cold and dry weather strips away what little moisture the hands hold. Hands and fingers can become dry, cracked and itchy so gloves should always be worn when outside. Don't use wet gloves or socks as these also cause cracking. Moisturize the hands and feet every night before going to sleep with an intensive moisturizing butter that contains petroleum jelly or glycerine.

Cure Your Acne With Coconut Oil Treatment

6:11:00 AM
If you or someone you love suffers from acne - what you want to know is what you can do about it. Yes, you can do it -- look better, feel better, and raise your self-esteem by getting rid of your acne cheaply, naturally and for good. Keeping your skin clear doesn't have to be a trying experience with so many cheaper natural treatments available today.
Nearly 80 percent of people from ages 11 to 30 years have acne, most often on the face, chest and back. Acne is the most common skin disease. Numerous studies have revealed that acne is not simply a problem of the young; it also afflicts people of many ages, and can severely affect their daily lives. Nearly 17 million people in the United States have acne.
I think the cause of acne is related to our acidic, inflammatory 'standard American diet' (SAD) and that would also influence all of our hormones including stress hormones. If you've heard that dirty skin causes acne, it doesn't - it's a myth. The liver gets rid of toxins from bad food, drugs and chemicals and sends them through the skin resulting in eruptions, acne, pimples and other skin disorders.
Some natural home remedies include dabbing on non-gel toothpaste or lemon juice to dry out zits. When you wash your face use a soft touch, taking care not to rub or scrub your skin. This is a little messy but you can try making a paste by mixing three tablespoons of honey and one teaspoon of cinnamon together and applying the paste on your pimples at bedtime for two weeks, and wash it off each morning; honey has anti-bacterial action - a cheap, natural home remedy.
One helpful remedy seems to be to use ice to reduce the swelling caused by inflamed pimples: rub it over the blemishes for 2-3 minutes. A new, non-invasive treatment using red light and blue light in combination has been extremely successful on severe acne. Try a diligent application of coconut oil several times a day and at bedtime to see the healing benefits.
Make sure to stay out of the sun if you're taking any acne medications. The treatment plan for acne includes trying to heal the pimples, stopping new pimples from forming, preventing scarring and helping reduce embarrassment. If you wear make-up choose it carefully; it should be oil free.
Coconut oil is one of the best, if not the best, treatments I've found for acne. It bears repeating, you want to be good to your skin and never pop or squeeze a pimple no matter how tempting. Treatment with raw apple cider vinegar will work better on your skin if it isn't already noticeably irritated from acne medicines, acne products or other failed treatment.
If you're going to buy acne products, it's much more worth your while to buy acne-treating products that work against current pimples and prevent the occurrence of new ones. Popping pimples can cause infection and scarring; best not to do it.
To cure yourself of acne, you need to correct the problems going on inside of your body that are causing the acne. Besides external acne treatment it's even more important to work from the inside out too. When you change your diet, your lesions should start getting better within a week or two, with significant improvement the first month.
The best acne treatment is a diet that will help the body eliminate waste; if you're eating the standard American diet (SAD) it'll be reflected in your skin. Adding a lot of fresh, raw fruit to the diet has helped many people clear their skin up; there are tons of vitamins, minerals and other nutrients in fruits.
Good clear skin is often a reflection of a good digestive system. For an easy fiber boost, mix in two tablespoons of ground up flaxseeds into raw applesauce, from two to three apples, made in your food processor. Eating foods with essential fatty acids are particularly important to people with dry skin or acne.
Get plenty of sunshine on your arms and legs; sunshine triggers the production of Vitamin D3 which is essential to having healthy skin. Drink freshly extracted carrot juice, if you can, every day; carrot juice is an excellent cleanser for the liver, great for the skin and contains tons of nutrients, all beneficial for acne.
Fortunately, many people have discovered through trial and error how to cure their acne. In any case, try not to panic about your acne and take it day by day. There is hope - keep researching and testing.

Don't Let the Signs of Aging Show Up on Your Face - Keep Wrinkles Away With Essential Oils

8:28:00 AM
Remember when your mother used to say: "Don't make that awful face. It might stay that way"? As it happens, she may have been more correct than she knew. Over the years our skin takes on a memory of our most common facial moves like squinting, smiling, frowning, raising our eyebrows or even the "sucking in" part of smoking. The result of this is wrinkles. Plus, anything we do that takes moisture from our skin tissue helps in the development of wrinkles. A major offender is over-exposure to the sun.
Forget about aging gracefully. Fight it every step of the way! Cleanse your face gently with natural moisturizers that gently clean and hydrate the skin. Increase the level of anti-oxidants in your diet. Avoid over-exposure to the sun or apply SPF products. Limit your alcohol consumption, manage your stress, and quit smoking. Hydrate with a minimum of eight glasses of water a day. Get plenty of sleep: at least eight hours a night. And last, but certainly not least: use essential oils to help maintain collagen and regenerate new cells. In general, the essential oils that help skin cells regenerate and rejuvenate are the same oils that help heal slight skin abrasions caused by dry skin.
The two best choices of oils to use for wrinkles are Niaouli, which is a choice skin tonic that protects the skin and Myrtle, which acts as an astringent to the skin. Other essential oils known for their anti-aging properties are: carrot seed, rose, jasmine, geranium, helichrysum, neroli, frankincense and myrrh.
To counteract dry, mature skin, it is best to combine these essential oils with vitamin-rich plant oils to help soften and nourish the skin, and nutrient packed nut and seed oils to act as carriers for the essential oils and aid in moisturizing and protecting the skin tissue. For this the best choices are high quality, cold-pressed oils such as rosehip, apricot kernel, avocado, macadamia nut, kikui nut, evening primrose and wheatgerm.
Here is a great formula for an excellent facial oil to use for dehydrated or wrinkled skin, or skin that has been damaged by the sun. When applying this oil avoid the eyes and the hairline. Use upward strokes while applying to neck and face.
Anti-Wrinkle Oil
2 tsp Apricot kernel oil
1 tsp Avocado oil
1 tsp Rose hip seed oil
10 drops Carrot Seed oil
5 drops Evening Primrose oil
4 drops Myrtle essential oil
4 drops Niaouli essential oil
2 drops Myrrh essential oil
3 drops Rose essential oil (for women) or
3 drops Jasmine essential oil (for men)
Combine ingredients in a one-ounce dark glass bottle. Cap and gently mix. Label. Apply 2-4 drops of the blend onto your fingertips, and apply to a moistened face and neck (Using floral water to moisten face is a great idea). Work upward, gently massaging the facial tissue.By

Home Remedies to Get Rid of Stretch Marks - Tips to Remove Stretch Marks Within 2 Weeks Naturally

9:43:00 AM
The dermatologists term stretch marks as 'Striae Atrophicae.' They are mainly caused due to sudden growth of weight. When our weight increases, the skin also needs to expand but it has limited elasticity. When this expansion goes beyond the elasticity, we can see some white or silver colored fine lines on the surface of the body. These are called stretch marks or the striae. Among women they mostly occur due to hormonal changes, pregnancy and puberty. For men the key reasons of striae are sudden weight gain and excessive workouts at the gymnasium.

* Castor oil: Apply a thick layer of castor oil on the affected area and tie it with a plastic sheet. Now apply heat on it for 20 to 40 minutes using a hot water bottle or the heating pad. You must do it once in a day for at least 7 days.

Easy Makeup Tips for Women Over 40

9:24:00 AM

Everyone turns over 40 years old sooner or later but why must you look that way?

Here are a few great makeup tips for those over 40 but would never admit it.

As with all makeup you need to start with great skin. Before you start any makeup application you need to cleanse then moisturize your face. Make sure you moisturize with creams and serums that are rich with retinols, antioxidants and peptides to help wage war on those all tell all fine lines.

Also before applying foundation use a silicone rich primer to help create a smoother finish. Makeup for those over 40 means we may need to start wearing foundation to help over up some small problems that have turn up. There are some who skin will never need to foundation but some will. Sun spots are common for those over 40 and a little concealer with foundation will help with that.

If ruddiness (redness) is a problem, try this:

Start by applying a sheer foundation and apply more light layers of foundation over the areas that need more coverage, then gradually build it up till you have full coverage.
You will find that a yellow based foundation works best, but do try to match it to your own personal skin tone.
Test on your jaw line in natural light if possible. Don't test it on the back of your hand when trying out foundations, the skin tone won't match and you will find that the color of foundation will be not quite right. If possible look at your skin in a natural lighting to see if the foundation you are thinking of buying looks correctly.

Playing up your eyes:

Eye shadows that you wore when you were in your 30's just may not be right now. Yet someone had come up with a silly rule that once you hit 40 its time to put away all your favorite vivid greens, purples, pinks eye shadows. Rules are not the same any longer, just change a little. All you need to do is stay away from any eye shadows that are iridescent because they will accentuate any fine lines that you may have.

Still, feel the need to wear one of your favorite color of eye shadow that's a bit wild?

Do this which is a up date for those who wear makeup over 40.

Start with your makeup primer, then apply a neutral color, your browns, beiges, bone then layer over that your favorite I'm not over 40 eye shadow. Best for parties but why not have fun?

Don't forget your eyeliner either. Just apply along your lash line then smudge it to help give your lashes a fuller look. Be careful with the color of eyeliner you choose, black may be too harsh for you now. Also don't forget to curl your lashes before applying your mascara as a way to open up your eyes and if you want really long full eye lashes look into Magic Lash Eyelash Enhancer.

Just because you have turned over 40 means your makeup doesn't need to change, just change a little. Tone down some colors, you may want to start wearing foundation if you didn't already do so. Start using a cream blush instead of a dry blush, simple things such as that. Drink lots of water and go back to taking on the world at on your terms.
