If you or someone you love suffers from acne - what you want to
know is what you can do about it. Yes, you can do it -- look better,
feel better, and raise your self-esteem by getting rid of your acne
cheaply, naturally and for good. Keeping your skin clear doesn't have to
be a trying experience with so many cheaper natural treatments
available today.
Nearly 80 percent of people from ages 11 to 30
years have acne, most often on the face, chest and back. Acne is the
most common skin disease. Numerous studies have revealed that acne is
not simply a problem of the young; it also afflicts people of many ages,
and can severely affect their daily lives. Nearly 17 million people in
the United States have acne.
I think the cause of acne is related
to our acidic, inflammatory 'standard American diet' (SAD) and that
would also influence all of our hormones including stress hormones. If
you've heard that dirty skin causes acne, it doesn't - it's a myth. The
liver gets rid of toxins from bad food, drugs and chemicals and sends
them through the skin resulting in eruptions, acne, pimples and other
skin disorders.
Some natural home remedies include dabbing on
non-gel toothpaste or lemon juice to dry out zits. When you wash your
face use a soft touch, taking care not to rub or scrub your skin. This
is a little messy but you can try making a paste by mixing three
tablespoons of honey and one teaspoon of cinnamon together and applying
the paste on your pimples at bedtime for two weeks, and wash it off each
morning; honey has anti-bacterial action - a cheap, natural home
remedy.
One helpful remedy seems to be to use ice to reduce the
swelling caused by inflamed pimples: rub it over the blemishes for 2-3
minutes. A new, non-invasive treatment using red light and blue light in
combination has been extremely successful on severe acne. Try a
diligent application of coconut oil several times a day and at bedtime
to see the healing benefits.

Massage Techniques For Headaches
9:43:00 AM
No one wants to feel a headache coming on. The next step from there
is usually a full-blown case, and some of them can be bad enough to
bring your entire day to a crashing halt.
There are several
methods available to you for combating headaches. The first response to
one is usually to take some over-the-counter medication, but that
doesn't necessarily have to be your first line of offense. There are
other natural ways of curing headaches such as using massages.
Massages For Headaches
There
are a number of techniques that take advantage of the massage method
for headaches. If you can't get your hands on any medication, or if you
simply want to try alternatives to drugs, the basic massage technique
can do a world of good:
· The basic massage technique involves
gently pushing your fingers over your temples, and then moving your
fingers in slow circles.
· This technique can distract you from
the pain, while also improving your circulation, and releasing some of
the tension that's causing your headache in the first place.
This
is the basic technique for headache massage and is easy to implement,
and you can use it in just about any situation you wish.
If you'd like to try something more advanced techniques for massaging a headache away, try some of these ideas out:
·
Invest in some coconut or argan oil. The next time a headache starts to
creep up on you, pour a little oil on your fingers, and give yourself a
slow, steady scalp massage. You should start to feel better very
quickly.
· If possible, put 2 tennis balls in a sock, lie on a
flattened surface, put the sock of tennis balls on your occipital bone,
and relax. This technique is particularly great with sinus headaches.
Don't worry, if you feel some sinus pressure or minor ache at the
beginning. This will go away quickly.
· If the situation allows
for it, have someone give you a neck, scalp, and shoulders massage. This
particular technique also has the benefit of having you relax, knowing
that someone who cares about you is trying to help you feel better.
· Tenderly massaging the bridge of your nose can help substantially with sinus and migraine headaches.
·
Treating the headache to a diligent massage at the acupressure point of
each hand can help, too. This is where the thumb and index finger bones
connect.

Cure Your Acne With Coconut Oil Treatment
6:11:00 AM
Make sure to stay out of the sun if
you're taking any acne medications. The treatment plan for acne includes
trying to heal the pimples, stopping new pimples from forming,
preventing scarring and helping reduce embarrassment. If you wear
make-up choose it carefully; it should be oil free.
Coconut oil is one of the best, if not the best, treatments I've found for acne. It bears repeating, you want to be good to your skin and never pop or squeeze a pimple no matter how tempting. Treatment with raw apple cider vinegar will work better on your skin if it isn't already noticeably irritated from acne medicines, acne products or other failed treatment.
If you're going to buy acne products, it's much more worth your while to buy acne-treating products that work against current pimples and prevent the occurrence of new ones. Popping pimples can cause infection and scarring; best not to do it.
To cure yourself of acne, you need to correct the problems going on inside of your body that are causing the acne. Besides external acne treatment it's even more important to work from the inside out too. When you change your diet, your lesions should start getting better within a week or two, with significant improvement the first month.
The best acne treatment is a diet that will help the body eliminate waste; if you're eating the standard American diet (SAD) it'll be reflected in your skin. Adding a lot of fresh, raw fruit to the diet has helped many people clear their skin up; there are tons of vitamins, minerals and other nutrients in fruits.
Good clear skin is often a reflection of a good digestive system. For an easy fiber boost, mix in two tablespoons of ground up flaxseeds into raw applesauce, from two to three apples, made in your food processor. Eating foods with essential fatty acids are particularly important to people with dry skin or acne.
Get plenty of sunshine on your arms and legs; sunshine triggers the production of Vitamin D3 which is essential to having healthy skin. Drink freshly extracted carrot juice, if you can, every day; carrot juice is an excellent cleanser for the liver, great for the skin and contains tons of nutrients, all beneficial for acne.
Fortunately, many people have discovered through trial and error how to cure their acne. In any case, try not to panic about your acne and take it day by day. There is hope - keep researching and testing.

Coconut Oil - A Natural Mouth Ulcer Cure
10:00:00 AM
A mouth ulcer is an open wound in the mouth where tender nerve
endings are exposed and can often cause extreme pain to the person who
is affected with them especially when they can become irritated. Often a
person suffering from mouth ulcers will find it difficult to eat, drink
and sometimes even talk and unfortunately these exposed ulcers are
vulnerable to infection by bacteria that is find in our mouth and
unfortunately create even more pain.
Many
mouth ulcers often seem to start off as a small bubble or blister which
then becomes open and ulcerated and this is when the pain really
starts. However, they can be caused accidentally by someone biting
themselves or there lips are so dry that they crack and then the ulcers
begin to form on their lips.
Normally mouth ulcers are caused by
either virus, bacteria or fungus and may result in the body's own
immune system attacking the mucosal lining of the mouth. In some cases
people who suffer from either Ulcerative Colitis or Crohn's Disease
(intestinal conditions) may find themselves suffering from mouth ulcers
also.
A good way of treating mouth ulcers is with coconut oil
which kills the bacteria that causes them. It is also good for treating
throat infections, gum disease and cavities. Certainly the Pacific
Islanders who have a coconut based diet have excellent dental health and
rarely suffer from mouth ulcers even when they have never brushed their
teeth or used floss or anti-bacterial mouthwash.
Certainly
coconut oil is ideal for helping to relieve the pain felt from mouth
ulcers instantly all you need is get a tablespoon of coconut oil and
hold it for a minute on the mouth ulcer. Soon you will feel the pain
going away and this relief seems to last for quite a while because of
the MCFA's (medium chain fatty acids) find in coconut oil which are
rapidly absorbed in to the body and thus the healing process is
accelerated.
The way coconut oil works is that it has anti-viral,
anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties and which can help to combat
viruses, bacteria and fungus that can be found in a persons mouth and
will cause ulcers. The MCFA's which are in coconut oil also help to
enhance the body's own immune system and thus help it to fight viruses,
fungus and bacterial problems. Also coconut oil is great for helping a
person's intestinal system by killing any fungi found in the intestinal
tract.
Above are a number of reasons as to why coconut oil can not
only help to treat and heal mouth ulcers but also to help prevent them
from forming. Also coconut oil is not messy to apply to the ulcer and
is completely edible and natural.

7 Tips For Soft Lips - Secrets to Soothe and Heal Dry Or Chapped Lips Naturally - Nurse's Guide
11:12:00 AM
If you're looking for a way to heal chapped lips or dry lips or
just want to have softer beautiful lips, I have a few tips for you.
If your lips are red, scaly, chapped, cracked, sore, painful or dry or if you just want to have softer lips I have a few natural solutions, treatments, remedies, warnings and tips for you.
Lip problems can have many causes. In the wintertime or cold winter months you may find you have more lip problems than in the summer months and the wind, the sun, and the cold and dry air can take their toll on your lips. When your lips get dry you may lick them more. You can end up with dermatitis of the lips and all around your mouth. Another cause is breathing with your mouth open. Or just getting dehydrated can cause them to be dry and cracked.
Also your lipstick, lip gloss, moisturizers and even your lip balm can cause irritation. There are many different types of chemicals in lip balms, and some people actually get addicted to them.
Here are a few tips for your lips:
1. Remember that whatever you put on your lips you are eating. Whether it is lipstick, lip gloss, moisturizers, or lip balm you are eating it throughout the day. There have been many estimates of how many pounds a day of lipstick women eat but they also consume other cosmetics and lip balms.
2. You may no doubt have read in the past to use Vaseline. But Vaseline is petroleum-based and do you really want to eat petroleum? Petroleum is crude oil. It will give you shiny lips but may also cause zits or breakouts as well. Two of its relatives - mineral oil and petrolatum do not penetrate the skin on top of your lips and they will seal in any bacteria that are present. I would not put petroleum on my lips.
3. Make sure to drink plenty of pure, filtered water or spring water throughout the day. Eat lots of fruits because they are high in moisture content. Water will hydrate you from within and keep your lips wet on the outside.
4. Avoid using any lip balms with phenol, lanolin, parabens and anything with a fragrance. No botanicals either. People can be allergic to many ingredients- even those from plants. Phenol is often used in lip balm. It feels soothing when you first put it on but it can be irritating and cause the skin under the lips to peel.
5. Many people become addicted to lip balms, so it's best to avoid them. There are even lip balm addiction anonymous groups set up for chronic, addicted users.
6. The secret to soft lips is natural, cheap, healing and easy to do. All you need to do to have the best soft lips with no exposure to irritating chemicals is to make your own lip balm by using virgin coconut oil. You can easily find coconut oil in whole food stores. Get the kind of coconut oil that smells like coconut and has not been bleached, refined or processed. You can put some in little jars and carry them with you in your car or bring to your office. Coconut oil becomes liquid at 77 degrees so don't keep it in your purse. A little will go a long way and you won't have to constantly reapply it. It is edible so there is no harm if you swallow any or lick your lips.
7. If you have a serious lip condition that doesn't respond to coconut oil for any reason make sure you see your skin specialist or dermatologist.
These are a just a few of the lip tips and secrets that helped many overcome their lip problems, whether it is a simple case of chapped lips, dry, red or scaly lips or a more serious eczema of the lips, dermatitis or skin condition. You should be able to enjoy smoother, softer, beautiful, healthy lips. Make sure to apply it around your lips on your skin at night.
