Knowing how to get rid of UTI should be a concern of everyone.
After all, untreated UTI can have serious consequences, like organ
damage, or worse, death. Although women are thought to be more prone to
UTI, it does not mean that men can not be affected by it. And you can't
say, either, that you can't have UTI since you're not even in your
thirties yet or that you are in your golden years already because
children and senior citizens themselves can have UTI. As it is, UTI can
happen to anybody, and so there is a need to know how to get rid of it
fast.
Short for Urinary Tract Infections, UTI occurs when
bacteria, usually E. coli, invade and multiply in the urinary tract,
causing an infection. Very often, UTI presents with signs and symptoms
such as frequency in urination, pain during urination, pain in the lower
abdomen and above the pelvic area, sensation to urinate, foul-smelling
urine, and blood in the urine. Some people are asymptomatic, meaning,
they don't experience these signs and symptoms associated with UTI, but
it does not mean that they don't have it or that their case is not
severe.
Antibiotics are prescribed to treat the problem, but
nobody should stop you from finding out other means on how to get rid of
UTI without having to depend solely and fully on antibiotics. There are
natural remedies that you can start right in your own home, and here
are a few of them worth trying out:
1. Drink lots of water.
No surprises here, actually. Water is necessary not only to keep you
hydrated but also to flush out foreign substances from the body.
2. Drink cranberry juice.
Even doctors themselves recognize the effect of cranberry juice on UTI,
and many of them even recommend this to their patients. Accordingly,
cranberry juice keeps the bacteria from adhering to the urinary tract.
Lots of people cannot tolerate the taste of cranberry juice, however, in
which case they may mix in some apple juice or take cranberry tablets
instead.
3. Drink water with baking soda. Mix
half a teaspoon of baking soda with a glass of water, and drink it. This
has been found to be an effective treatment for UTI especially during
the early stages.
4. Use aromatherapy to treat UTI.
Sandalwood, tea tree, juniper, bergamot, and frankincense form a
powerful combination that targets UTI. Make a massage oil out of these
ingredients and massage it over your bladder for 3 to 4 days.
Apparently,
prevention is always better than cure. A few things you can do to
prevent the incidence of UTI include drinking lots of water, increasing
Vitamin C in the diet (Vitamin C promotes an acidic environment which
the bacteria causing UTI cannot tolerate), wearing loose clothing, and
avoiding caffeine, processed foods and other stimulants that can
irritate the bladder walls.By
