Inner Ear Infection Remedies

Inner ear infections can be caused by viruses or bacteria. Symptoms include ringing in the ears (tinnitus), loss of hearing, loss of balance, dizziness, nausea and vomiting. Fortunately there are some great natural inner ear infection remedies that can help combat the infection and return the body to optimal health.
Let's have a look at these natural inner ear infection remedies:
Glycerine nasal spray
To relieve ringing in the ears, hearing loss, balance problems and dizziness a glycerine nasal spray can help. Mix one teaspoonful of salt and one teaspoon of glycerine in 600 ml (1 pint) of warm water. Use a nasal spray bottle to spray each nostril with the solution until it starts to drain in the back of the throat. You can also spray the throat. Repeat the procedure several times a day.
Vitamin C
One of the most popular inner ear infection remedies is vitamin C. High dose vitamin C can boost your white blood cell activity to help fight infections. At the onset of symptoms, take 1 gram of vitamin C hourly until you get loose stools. Dosing with vitamin C until you reach 'bowel tolerance' indicates that your tissues are saturated with vitamin C, and any excess is spilling over into the urine and stools. At this stage your immune system will be working most efficiently.
Garlic
Garlic is a powerful anti-microbial. Garlic can be eaten raw or grated into teas, soups, stir fries or juices. Aim to consume at least 1 clove a day.
Anti-microbial herbs
Herbs can build protection and natural immunity to all types of infections. Olive leaf extract, astragalus and echinacea (which is particularly good for children) are good choices as effective inner ear infection remedies. These herbs can be taken as a tea or in liquid, capsule or tablet form
The B Vitamins
The B vitamins are essential for a healthy nerve supply to the ears. The most important B vitamins for ear problems are vitamin B3 or niacin and vitamin B6. Niacin improves circulation to the ears whilst B6 is essential for nerve health.
Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10)
Chronic infected ears may be due to a deficiency in Coenzyme Q10. Coenzyme Q10 plays a critical role in the production of energy in every cell in your body. In fact it is often referred to as Nature's "energy spark plug". A deficiency of Coenzyme Q10 can lead to fatigue, poor immunity, premature aging and other associated illnesses.
Manganese
A deficiency of manganese has been linked to ear disorders. At least 5 mg twice a day is recommended for optimal functioning of the ear.
Ginkgo biloba
One of the most traditional inner ear infection remedies is the herb Ginkgo biloba. It is used as a treatment for vertigo, tinnitus (ringing in the ears) and a variety of neurological disorders and circulation problems. Gingko works by improving the circulatory system. In clinical tests ginkgo has improved hearing loss in the elderly. It may need to be taken for 3 months or more to show obvious improvements in symptoms.
