Here are some simple home remedies for anxiety that will help you calm those nervous symptoms. Contrary to what most people might think, mild anxiety can easily be treated at home with calming music and some ingredients out of the kitchen.
Dietary Remedies
Orange. Just the smell of an orange is known to reduce anxiety. Just take the peels of the orange and drop them into a small pan. Cover them with water and let them simmer over the stove. The orange peel will release a fragrant calming oil as it simmers giving your home a comforting aroma. I like to heat orange peels during the winter months when we spend more time inside.
Almonds. You can also take 10 almonds and soak them overnight in water to soften them. Once the are soft, peel the skins off and put the almonds in a blend with one cup of warm milk. Add a pinch of ginger and a pinch of nutmeg. Drink before going to bed at night to relax.
Herbal Remedies
Chamomile. Chamomile tea can calm the nerves and also helps with sleeping at night. It's easy to fix:
  1. Take on tablespoon of chamomile flowers and steep them in 1 cup of hot water for about 15 minutes.
  2. Breath in the aroma as as you're letting it cool.
  3. Strain it and drink when needed.
Topical Remedies.
Baking Soda. Yes baking soda can even help calm the nerves. Just add 1/3 cup to a nice warm bath. In addition to the baking soda, add 1/3 cup of ginger. Relax in the tub for about 15 minutes to relieve any tension and anxiety
Sesame oil. If you enjoy the tension relief of a good massage, the you'll love adding this ingredient to the mix. For an incredible massage, just heat 6 ounces of sesame oil until warm (not hot). If you don't have sesame oil, coconut or corn oil will work as well. Once the oil is warm, rub it over your entire body including your scalp. If anxiety keeps you up at night, try this oil rub down before you go to bed.
These are just a few home remedies for anxiety that are sure to ease some of the stresses of everyday life.
